The pretty market town of Penrith offers an ideal base for visitors wishing to enjoy the stunning scenery of the Lake District, Eden Valley and North Pennines. It is only a five-minute drive from the nearest lake at Ullswater and approximately 25 minutes from Derwent Water and Keswick. The town itself has plenty to offer, both in terms of heritage and leisure facilities. There is a cinema, swimming pool and two golf courses as well as tennis, crazy golf and a children’s play area at the Castle Park.
